I can’t believe it was almost a month ago that I had the privilege to meet two remarkable people that happened to also be awesome parents.
During the two day Misfit conference (I got invited by AJ and Melissa to attend), I had the opportunity to meet Mirko and Genevieve Spinella.
They happen to be family to my dear friend AJ. Thanks to them, many of us enjoyed having some pretty awesome meals that where up to par with the unique once in a lifetime experience of meeting so many great people.
I had the privilege to spend some time with Mirko and Genevieve on the last night at the last social event for the Misfit Conference and on my first leg of my trip back to Puerto Rico where we flew from Fargo to Chicago.
I did not want them to leave
When I meet genuinely awesome people and I find so much in I common, I have a hard time saying good-bye to them.
When we arrived at Chicago’s O’Hare airport, our first flight had been delayed so we literally had to grab a meal and run to our gates. Cool that I finally had a meal with them, which they had not prepared with their own hands. I would have given anything to spend some more quality time with Mirko and Genevieve.
Their Kids are My Heroes
I know all three of us would have loved staying in Fargo, ND a few more days but we also wanted to go see our kids. A few days later I read about how their two awesome kids Niko and Jordan, motivated by some pretty awesome parents and a remarkable uncle, were raising funds for the Good Misfit Project where we also participated.
Kids can Motivate Adults
Seeing the kids crush their goal and thinking that I had sat on my efforts with many excuses, I realized I had to get my gears turning so I could pull my weight and help the project reach the goal.
I wrote this blog because I truly wanted to honor awesome parents like Genevieve and Mirko but I also have to honor the spirit of Niko and Jordan who crushed their goal in approximately 20 days.

We Met the Goal
At the moment of writing this post, Bianca and myself went over the goal by $25 and the overall goal had already been reached.
I will be updating you on how 500 villagers in Kenya will benefit from the efforts of the Misfits and those who decided to join us to hand over a Donation.
If you want to learn more about the project please sign up to my newsletter and I will gladly share updates on the project.
